Various peoples organizations hold a protest-march from Commonwealth Avenue to the University of the Philippines on October 26, 2024 ahead of the launch of the International Peoples Tribunal to hold the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank accountable for their key roles in driving inequality, impoverishment, and deprivation across the Global South.

The launch is timed with the IMF and the World Bank’s 80th year celebration and annual meetings in Washington DC.
The tribunal which will be held at the UP Film Center will be presided over by an International Panel of Judges composed of distinguished economists, lawyers, and academicians. It is the first to be held in the Philippines and will be followed by sessions in Nepal, India, Africa, and Latin America.

Asian Peoples’ Movement on Debt and Development (APMDD) spearheads the tribunal with over 30 other social justice and human rights organizations in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The final verdict will be passed in April 2025.
