Fishermen and environmental campaigners set a fluvial protest in Simlong, Batangas City on November 11, 2024, ahead of the 2024 UN Climate Change Conference (COP 29) in Baku, Azerbaijan.

In support of the Global Days of Action Against Gas Expansion, the participants said they want to send a strong message to world leaders attending COP29 about the alleged dangers posed to the peoples and planet of massive investments in fossil gas in Asia and beyond.

Organizer Asian People’s Movement on Debt and Development said multi-country boat protests were also held in eight other Philippine areas and in Pakistan, India, Indonesia, and Bangladesh and climate groups and communities in Africa, Latin America, South Korea, Japan, and Malaysia joined in solidarity.
