With advanced sold-out tickets, about 700 participants from various sectors, diversified genders, and nationalities turn up at the Pink Run Intramuros, a fun-run event for a Breast Cancer Awareness Initiative held at the historical and culturally valuable Fort Santiago, Intramuros in Manila, Saturday, January 18, 2025.



Anya, 30 years old, female from South Metro Manila, woke up just past 4:00 am and hurriedly prepped herself, called her female friend, and asked if she was ready for a quick go.



The two young professional were both excited for the Pink Fun Run, which for them is primarily for healthy sporty enjoyment and social interaction. They also see to it that their participation would contribute to the fund raising for Breast Cancer Survivors and patients.
The event was organized by EmpowerPh and Pink Run.


In an interview with Ravi, from EmpowerPh, he said this is a first in the Philippines, a fun-run for breast cancer awareness. He also added that they had partnered with Get Med and are offering free cancer medicines to Breast Cancer patients, during the event or after encourages people to spread the word on this free medicine gesture.

Ravi says he is happy about the turnout of the event and noted that there is a significant number of breast cancer survivors and patients who joined.

Towards the end of the event, Anya and her friends and most participants were happy to have their picture taken at the Pink Run balloon hoop moongate arch while flexing their run medals.
