Multisectoral groups commemorate the 39th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Uprising that ousted dictator Ferdinand Marcos in 1986 with a protest march-rally near the vicinities of EDSA Shrine and the People Power Monument in Quezon City, Philippines on February 25, 2025.

Organized by groups such as Taumbayan Ayaw sa Magnanakaw at Abusado Network Alliance (TAMA NA), Clergy and Citizens for Good Governance (CCGG), and Buhay ang People Power Campaign Network, the protest was meant to keep alive the spirit of the peaceful revolution.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. excluded the anniversary from the list of holidays last year and this year. Several schools have suspended classes, and some declared alternative learning day to celebrate the historic occasion. PHOTOS BY JIMMY A DOMINGO / Mata: Asia Press Photo
