Thousands gathered at Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila today, May 1, 2025, marking Labor Day with a massive protest. Various progressive and workers’ groups call for wage increase and decry a range of economic issues.
Protesters demanded the implementation of a ₱1,200 daily living wage nationwide and voiced out the challenges faced by the workers and their struggle for fair wages and labor rights in the country.
Led by the Kilusang Mayo Uno, the mass actions is joined by the Alliance of Concerned Teachers, Bayan Muna, Alliance of Health Workers, Gabriela, Tambisan sa Sining, and other youth groups.
