Typhoon Uwan slammed into Camarines Sur on Sunday, November 9, 2025 leaving a trail of flooding, fallen trees, and disrupted communities in its wake. Residents across the province experienced several hours of torrential rain and violent winds reaching up to 185 km/h with gustiness up to 230 km/h.
In Nabua and Baao towns, floodwaters reached waist deep, submerging farmlands, and destroying vital sources of income for local farmers.
In Iriga City, uprooted trees and damaged power lines aggravated widespread blackouts.
Reports from the Camarines Sur Electric Company confirmed at least three transmission towers from the mountain unit were toppled.
Locals massed on charging stations on barangays halls and even malls, struggling to keep communication lines open. A number of roads were rendered nearly impassable, hampering relief efforts and delaying emergency response.
As of this writing, electricity has been restored to some areas.
